An Elegant Lightweight: The ‚Villach‘ from MEYHOFER

Today I would like to talk about one of our new stainless steel watch bands. The ‚Villach‘ from Meyhofer is a finely structured quality mesh watch band that is made of stainless steel and available in various colours such as black coloured, silver coloured, gold coloured and rosé gold coloured. You can order this watch band model in the lug widths of 14mm, 16mm, 18mm and 20mm (Unfortunately black and rosé are not available in all mentioned lug widths at the time of writing). It is suitable for watches with standard lug ends and can be easily adjusted in length thanks to the sliding clasp. What makes this watch band so special – besides its modern and elegant design – is its thickness and its weight: The Villach has a thickness of only 1.6mm and a weight of approx. 22g. In comparison to similar mesh watch bands, this one is a real lightweight. I can’t wait to show you some pictures, so let’s get straight to it:

Traditional and sporty: The Herringbone Mesh

This week I would like to draw your attention to another new stainless steel watch band from Geckota: The Gk-MC53. This silver coloured mesh watch band combines traditional patterns and a modern design. The herringbone pattern is often used in architecture and can also be found in machines or technical devices such as gear wheels. Now you can wear this special strong design on your wrist. Our newest member in the mesh watch band family comes in the lug widths of 18mm, 20mm and 22mm and is suitable for watches with standard lug ends. It is equipped with a brushed sliding clasp which makes it easy to adjust the length. Let’s have a look at this great mixture of past and present times and don’t forget to click on the picture to see all currently available sizes in our online shop.

Mesh watch bands with slide clasps

This week I’d like to draw your attention to a specific range of products from different manufacturers. As the title of this article suggests, the theme today is mesh watch bands with slide clasps, specifically medium thickness bands. Mesh watch bands have long been popular on elegant watches and high street brands like Skagen and Bering, but predominantly they are a thin mesh which works for the thinner classic style watches. Mesh straps with standard security or butterfly clasps often have the problem that they cannot be shortened very easily and thus have to be available in various lengths, making purchasing more complicated than it has to be and often pushing the prices higher due to higher manufacturing costs. Mesh bands with slide clasps solve the sizing problem as the clasp literally slides along the band and allows it to be adjusted to a fully customisable length. This makes these metal watch bands very interesting, and with the increasing popularity of larger, thicker watches, the mesh bands are also now available in thicker meshes, not just at the high end of the prices range, but affordable for many customers wanting something a little bit different on their watch.
Another great thing about these bands is that they are available in increasingly more colours. Silver and gold have been joined by black, and now even brown and blue mesh watch bands are available.
I’d like to introduce to you a few models from a couple of different manufacturers and brands to show you what we have to offer. (For more information click on the photos to be taken to our product descriptions in our shop.)

Staib – Milanaise/Mesh Watch Straps with a difference

Staib is a brand which has always been a brand which is synonymous with quality. The watch straps from Staib are all metal watch straps or watch bands from the absolute top class category. Or so I thought. Of course they are great quality, there is no question about that, but now Staib has managed to raise the bar even higher with it’s new offering.

Staib is a German firm with a long tradition in manufacturing metal watch bands, concentrating often on mesh or milanaise watch bands.
The MD08 from Staib is the newest in our range of mesh or milanaise watch bands from Staib. The band is a robust mesh structure approximately 4mm thick with a security clasp. The majority of the strap is polished, but the surface of the security clasp brushed, which is only visible when the clasp is open. This clasp also features a cross design on the inside of the clasp, as well as many possibilities to adjust the length of the band at the clasp. With it being a mesh/milanaise band, it cannot be shortened by removing links, so this type of clasp is a great addition to such a watch band. We stock it currently in 20mm, 22mm and 24mm. One thing to note, is that the clasp fitted it always the same 20mm clasp, which means that the 22mm and 24mm models taper from the lug ends to the clasp.

See these photos for more details. As usual, you can click on the photos to be taken to the shop to buy the products.
